Bakkhali is village under Namkhana police station of Namkhana CD block in Kakdwip subdivision of South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
It's about 130 km from Kolkata and one can reach via train through Sealdah Station or buses from Esplanade till Namkhana station and then catch a Toto(reserve basis) for Rs. 400 or bus for Rs. 22 per head towards Bakkhali bus stand.
Fishing is the primary occupation of the people out here.
Agriculture is almost non-existent due to the extreme salinity of adjacent sea.
Overall a peace and calm place surrounded by Mangrove forest to spend a great weekend.
